Pumpkins

It all started last Saturday when we went up to the pumpkin patch in Farmington. I will say for the record, that last year was much better....it was a little bit of slim pickins this year at this patch. Many pumpkins had not turned the bright orange, and most of them had already started to rot and were really gross! I think next year we will go to the patch in Syracuse!
It was a bit cold, but some how we all managed to find "that" one pumpkin.

Gunner really liked this pumpkin, he said it was like a vampire snake......I think he was thinking it looked kind of like a Cobra! (it was not for sale)

Then this past Thursday night we carved our pumpkins. Last year, we bought the "book" that had tons of cool pumpkin faces in them, but it ended up that Rob and I had to carve them all. So this year, if you wanted to carve your pumpkin, you had to do it yourself....okay we did help them a little. But they were able to use their own imagination and creativity!
First they had to draw their pumpkin face on paper.....

Then they could draw the face on the pumpkin.....

Then came the "pumpkin GUTS".....

Then came the "carving".........
(daddy gave a little lesson, and then Guns took over!)

And who doesn't like to eat a little bit of raw pumpkin on carving night?
(Rob and Guns thought it was gross...Bells loved it!!)
Our finished Jack-O-Lanterns!
Ruger pretty much slept through most of our fun, but we included him anyways!
