First Grade

We survived our first week of first grade!!!

To start it out last week on Saturday we cut gunners hair for school.....yes he is his mothers son. And yes, I feel that expressing yourself through your hair is just fine because a wise woman (my mother) once told me......"It will always grow back"

Gunner coordinated his outfit quite well by himself. He wants to be a "Rocker" so he had his shirt with the guitar on it, his rocker/pirate shoes on, and his backpack has music and guitars on it as well. We were a little concerned that they would not allow such a "cool" hair do in school. So I put the clippers in the car just in case, but nobody even comment on it!

Check out Bella with her backpack!! I swear she has lugged that thing around all over this past week, just so she can be like Gunner!

This is Gunners classroom, he is in Room 1 and his teacher is Miss Ryan!

We also started soccer last week. Our first game was Thursday. Gunner is on the Red/White team, which is a team of 7 boys. Kudos to our coach Mandy, those boys are sure a handful all together!

Bella was also very helpful during the game. She kept all the practice cones together, and she was able to keep some of the kids company when they weren't playing. They could only play 4 kids at a time on the field, so they all had a turn sitting out. Here she is with Michael on the sidelines!

Here's the team after they scored one of their goals, you have to zoom in a little but you can see them all hootin and hollerin with excitement!

Overall it was a great first week for first grade!!
